Reserve Rum Ginger Julab

The Recipe

Add to a tumbler...

The Blend: 2 teaspoons of finely diced fresh ginger
Squash the ginger with a muddler (or use the end of a rolling pin)
Add to the glass: Two pinch of fresh mint leaves
Two teaspoons of brown vanilla sugar
One tot of St Abbs Captain’s Table XO
The Shake: Press all ingredients against the side of the glass with the back of a spoon till the mint has released its flavour
Add one scoop of cracked ice and churn everything together so that the ingredients are well mixed and the melting ice adds water to the drink.
The Finish: Add a second tot of St Abbs Captain’s Table XO, top up with ice and continue to churn to melt the ice till the glass is full.
Tope with a scoop of ice for presentation and garnish with a mint sprig, ginger slice and two straws.
